Have you ever been on a hike in the mountains and wondered “What’s THAT flower over there?” Usually with a reference volume you have to already know the name of the flower before you can look it up. With this app you instead find a photo of the flower, and then you can learn what it’s called.
Typically there are a few photos of each flower; scroll down to see more. Tap on a photo for zooming, rotating, and panning.
If you do know a flower’s name you can search for it in the Search tab. Searching works on any part of the flower’s common name or scientific name.
Tap the bookmark icon for a flower to save it for later quick reference.
This app covers the Skyline Ridge area of the Santa Cruz mountains of the San Francisco Peninsula, roughly between highways 92 and 17, and some adjacent lower parklands. The app is designed for off-network usage, as there is very little coverage in that area, which means online searching will probably not be available. This was done by including a lot of photos, correspondingly, it’s a rather large app. We’re aware of that and working on reduction methods.
